Why Continuous Enterprise Data?
Enterprise data is up-to-date, high-quality data from across the organization; it becomes continuous enterprise data when it is fully defensible and delivered on an as-needed basis to the right data consumers, human or AI, reflecting their changing needs over time.

There are multiple reasons why your organization needs continuous enterprise data:
- You operate in a VUCA/BANI world. Data professionals, like everyone else, are working in a volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) environment. Worse yet, your environment is also increasingly becoming brittle, anxious, non-linear, and incomprehensible (BANI). To successfully navigate a VUCA/BANI environment, your stakeholders need access to high-quality, timely information that is easily consumable when and where they need it. Your AI systems similarly need such information.
- Better-informed, data-driven decision-making. The decision-makers in your organization need enterprise data to support their daily work, and, given the VUCA/BANI environment they face, they need it continuously.
- Artificial intelligence (AI). Your organization wants to operationalize effective artificial intelligence (AI) systems to streamline its workflow, better serve customers, and improve the bottom line. To accomplish these goals, you require continuous enterprise data.
Continuous enterprise data is delivered by a continuous enterprise data pipeline, whose logical architecture is depicted in Figure 2.
